WOOD CONSTRUCTION SCREWS ON THE RISE

Wood construction screws have been developed for connecting wooden beams and supporting wood constructions. A screw on the rise in the Netherlands, especially now that we are increasingly building with wood!

Wood construction screws are actually 'blown over' from Germany, where structural work with wood has been going on for a long time. These screws are also called teller head screws. Tellerkopf literally means 'board-head' and therefore says something about the head shape of these screws. The screws have a large pressed-in ring under the screw head, and so they have a large head diameter. This large head ensures a large clamping range of the screws; with this you pull two wooden beams firmly together. Due to the large heads, this type of screw is also well-suited for screwing in soft materials such as insulation boards.

Perfect alternative
Wood construction screws are a perfect alternative for the 'old-fashioned' wood screws or carriage bolts. In the past, carriage bolts or threaded bolts were widely used for making wood constructions. Preparing and pre-drilling these takes a lot of time and is a precise job. Another method for connecting beams and other wood constructions is the use of wood connectors, corner joints or beam carriers. However, this does not give a nice optical result because these steel connections always remain in sight.

Save building constructions
An attractive solution for connecting the load-bearing beams and other load-bearing timber constructions is the use of the wood construction screw. Dynaplus wood construction screws are made of hardened carbon steel and are super strong. Due to an additional annealing treatment in the production process, Dynaplus wood construction screws eliminate the risk of hydrogen embrittlement in the material. Important for making safe building constructions. Compared to wood screws, wood construction screws have a much higher pull-out value. As a result, the screws can be subjected to heavier loads and fewer fastening points are required for a solid timber construction. OPTIONAL

Advantage
Above the thread, on the particle thread, you can see a so-called 'wobble' on this screw; this improves the tightening effect in wood-on-wood joints. The "wokkel" pre-drills the screw hole a little wider, which attracts the second part of the wood better. Thanks to the large, deep TX drive, you have optimum power transfer from the (impact) screwdriver to the screw and can process these screws easily. With the special drill point with cross-sections and cutting point, you can use them in many cases without pre-drilling.

Many types and sizes
The Dynaplus range of timber construction screws is very large; the smallest is the 4.0 x .0 and the largest screw is the 10.0 x 500 mm. For screwing 'under the hood', you can use the galvanised Indoor screws. For the construction of verandas, roofs, pergolas or other construction work that remains directly in the open air, use the Outdoor Wood Building Screws with a bronze AR coating. Be careful when using Douglas fir and oak; these types of wood contain natural tannic acids that attack a galvanised screw from the inside; always use AR-coated screws in these types of wood.
